This Role in Summary:

 

Whirlpool is seeking a Business Human Resources leader to support the Global Products Organization (GPO) - Engineering and Technology. This HR leader will be the strategic Human Resources Business Partner for the Global Laundry teams, supporting ~500 employees. They will be responsible for developing and executing organizational strategies that align structure, culture, and talent with business goals while providing coaching to people leaders. There is plenty of variety in this role. Today, you will work on driving organizational effectiveness to ensure a “fit for purpose” structure. Tomorrow, you might be identifying the future leadership pipeline and partnering with leaders to identify appropriate development actions or build out engagement plans to increase team effectiveness.  This, all in pursuit of delivering product leadership and improving lives at home through the best kitchen and laundry products.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

 

  • Leads and deploys the People Excellence agenda for the business, including strategic programs, actions, and initiatives that enable the delivery of the business strategy. 
  • Serves as a strategic business partner, consulting with executives & senior leaders on organization design & development (planning, assessment/diagnosis, evaluation, and following-up).
  • Coaches executives and senior leaders to facilitate achievement of established business objectives through effective people management.
  • Partners with a regional team of business partners and effectively works within a global HR operating model (Centers of Excellence, HR Operations, and Business HR).
  • Recruits, develops, and retains a high-performing and talented workforce. 
  • Acts as strategic change management facilitator.
  • Develops and drives the overall execution of talent and organization practices and processes across the global organization.
  • Ensures a deep understanding of the “State of the Organization & Talent”, utilizing data and insights (i.e. attrition, future talent pipeline, engagement, current talent makeup, org makeup, etc.), and utilizes to inform the PE agenda & initiatives. 
  • Partners with Global HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to ensure business needs are incorporated into CoE strategies, processes, etc. 
  • Utilizes deep talent and organizational effectiveness knowledge and experience to act as a coach to the organization, and build capability to enable an Agile Organization, Great People, and Winning Culture.
  • Facilitates annual organization planning, salary & fringe (S&F) profit planning, and talent processes for the organization, in alignment with corporate processes, timelines, and tools.
  • Leads annual talent management processes across the business, including Performance Management, Compensation Planning, Talent Assessment, Succession Planning, & Employee Engagement. 
  • Partners with Global Talent Acquisition on sourcing strategies and execution needed to address key talent gaps (e.g.: critical leadership roles, proactive sourcing/market mapping to address succession gaps, critical skill sets, leadership pipeline programs, etc.).
  • Partners with Global Learning & Development on development and global execution of programs associated with leadership development, people leader effectiveness, onboarding, mentoring, etc. 
  • Ensures deep understanding of the individual, key talent within the organization (e.g.: leadership talent, next-generation talent, talent in critical roles). 
  • Enables strategic talent management practices such as early identification, understanding of individual employee motivators and associated development & retention, career acceleration assignments, reward & recognition, etc. 
  • Collaborate with others in leading or completing special projects as assigned. 

  

Minimum Qualifications:  

 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years progressive experience in Human Resources

 

Preferred Skills and Experiences:  

 

  • Master’s Degree in Business or HR
  • Prior HR Business Partner experience supporting a client group(s)
  • Multinational/multicultural HR experience
  • Prior HR partnership with Senior level Business Executives 
  • Business Acumen: Uses extensive knowledge and insight about the business to fully engage in business discussions and lead People Excellence strategy to improve talent and business outcomes  
  • Strategic Partner: Develops effective relationships with clients by building trust, leveraging networks, applying HR expertise, and measuring and ensuring business results  
  • Organizational Effectiveness: Creates an effective and strong organization by utilizing organizational diagnosis tools, leveraging organization design principles, and building organization capabilities in line with Whirlpool’s core values to win against the competition  
  • Data-driven Insights: Applies data analytics and judgment to draw insights that inform business decision making  
  • Coach: Uses coaching and influencing skills to successfully drive change and leaders’ ownership/accountability  
  • Change Champion: Partners to lead and sustain change creating an agile and responsive organization
