Function Overview:

The SBD team is comprised of technical experts with a deep knowledge of cooking products (Ranges, Cooktops, and Built in Ovens …). The primary delivery of the team is a suite of virtual models proven to predict product performance without the need of physical units. The team’s physics-based approach ensures the models are parameterized such that the predictive capability is valid between products with varying form/dimensions. This is achieved through deep technical knowledge, systematic problem solving and extensive lab experimentation to prove correlation and flexibility.

Job Description:

  • The Analyst/Engineer will work with the global simulation based engineering teams and cooking subsystem teams to create and execute highly physics-based system-performance models (both 1D and 3D) for cooking products to enable virtual prediction of thermal, structure and combustion performance.
  •  As a key member of the modeling team, it is critical for you to interact with other sub-system teams and system integration teams to develop model portfolio and justify the value added through modeling.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree
  • 1+ year experience of developing/applying simulation models for thermal flow analysis
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English

Preferred Requirements:

  • PhD in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
  • Highly capable in the technical areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, and structures/statics
  • Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with Ansys
  • Skilled user for PTC Creo
  • Familiar with 1D system model tool (Dymola, Modelica)
  • Ability to work with diverse global teams
