The Position: We are seeking a Health and Safety professional who will help support safety initiatives to ensure a culture where safety and reduction of risk is a priority. The candidate will also ensure compliance with all corporate standards as well as federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.

 

Working Procedure:

• Analyze Gensuite data to identify trends.

• Conduct risk assessment evaluations to define means to eliminate identified safety hazards.

• Help develop risk abatement plans based on past data within the department.

• Work with salary and hourly leadership to increase the awareness of safety risks.

• Respond to department emergencies.

• Attend various daily/weekly/monthly meetings, including those with the safety team.

• Seek out and implement opportunities to create a reduction in incident rates.

• Lead WCM Expansion Area through all certification steps and maintain certifications.

• Respond promptly to employee issues and inquiries on health and safety issues.

• Support operations as they conduct accident and near miss investigations in cooperation with company Health Center; work with plant leadership to implement corrective action plans.

• Conduct ergonomic assessment and develop a reduction plan.

• Conduct annual LOTO audits.

• Ensure Behavior Based Safety audits are completed in accordance with department metrics.

• Develop a weekly report out for Blue Wall.

• Provide quarterly safety training. Work with PD on safety orientation for new hires. Conduct f/u with hires for up to 2 weeks. 

• Complete weekly trend audits.

• Update department KAI Board and follow up with area leadership

• Consult maintenance, TPM Coordinator, and Engineer for department improvements

• Provide input to leadership to meet a goal of zero injuries to our employees.

• Work to identify continuous improvement opportunities throughout the plant.

• Complete WCM training and Safety Pillar competencies.

• Expand the proactive safety culture at the Tulsa Operations.

• Ensure regulatory OSHA/NAR Whirlpool compliance.

• Create and update safety reports and documentation as required.

• Be available to work extended hours and/or flex work hours on any shift (1st/2nd/weekend), as needed.

 

Requirements:

• Degree preferred, with a focus in Safety (High School Diploma Required)

• Must be 18 years of age

 

Preferred Experience:

• 6 months of manufacturing work

• 1 year of consistent work experience

• Previous World Class Manufacturing methodology understanding

• Previous safety experience a plus

• Works independently and self-driven

• Broad problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to lead and work with cross-functional indirect teams

• Proven ability for strategic thinking

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Familiarity with lean and continuous improvement practices

• Possess a strong character and high level of integrity.

• Strong computer experience (Google Suite) to generate reports, charts, graphs, etc.

• Collect/analyze data and prepare reports/charts

• Emergency Response Team member/leader
