This role in summary

 

Whirlpool is currently looking for qualified candidate for a Materials Delivery Engineer role located at our manufacturing facility in Tulsa, OK. The purpose of this role is to provide Engineering support to our materials group within our manufacturing plant.   This role will be focused on implementation of a new assembly line for the first 2 years.

Your responsibilities will include

 

  • Accountable to drive continuous improvement through the planning and executing of lean events, projects, and activities
  • Champion lean through coaching in lean tools and WCM, (World Class Manufacturing) methodologies
  • Prioritize and organize to deliver both short term and long term goals and activities in accordance with business objectives
  • Coaching and developing salary and hourly associates on lean tools and WCM methodologies
  • Putting lean into practice - using lean WCM tools to drive continuous improvement projects related to improving material management and material flow
  • Designing solutions for material flow

Minimum requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ year(s) experience in a manufacturing or supply chain operations

Preferred skills and experiences

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Engineering
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards
  • Understanding of lean concepts along with proven track record of driving continuous improvement via lean tools
  • Grow individual and organization competency through proactive coaching and mentoring. Outstanding communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated success in a “teaming” environment. 
  • management, contracting, commercial negotiation, and other core Procurement skill sets
  • Strong communication skills with ability to gather/leverage facts to generate confidence across the enterprise
  • Proficiency in general business applications (Google, Microsoft Office, SAP, Autocad, Value stream mapping, Ergonomic assessments etc.)
