Maintenance Engineer

 

Tulsa Manufacturing Operations of Whirlpool Corporation is currently seeking qualified candidates for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Engineer opening in our Maintenance organization. This role provides a great opportunity for a motivated individual that has a manufacturing background, exceptional leadership skills, and is able to achieve world class performance in Safety, Quality, and Productivity. This position will directly supervise maintenance personnel in the repair of equipment, rearrangement projects, construction projects, and preventive maintenance programs. If you're able to lead in a high volume-manufacturing environment, have a thorough understanding of engineering principles, are driven to provide leadership and motivation to others, then this may be a great position for you. For this role we will be looking for a high performance candidate with experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. This position is a great opportunity for someone who has established leadership skills and is truly interested in continuing to establish Whirlpool as an industry leader.   This is a 2nd Shift Position (4:30pm - 3:00am).

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting daily manufacturing operations (assembly equipment,  material handling and business processes)
  • Performing engineering project work
  • Assisting in implementing World Class Manufacturing methodology,
  • Supporting cost improvement and capital improvement initiatives
  • Helping to establish labor standards while providing clear expectations and driving accountability
  • Driving root cause analysis through structured diagnosis of equipment failures
  • Providing oversight to projects being completed on the shop floor
  • Constantly driving safe work practices
  • Ensuring efficient time and resource management practices are being followed
  • Effectively monitor craftsmen resolving emergency calls
  • Using a computerized maintenance management system for creation, display, tracking, and confirming maintenance orders
  • Assisting in implementation of World Class Manufacturing methodology
  • Updating, reviewing, and presenting departmental metrics
  • Communicating information between maintenance shifts, department leadership, and to all levels of management

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial/mechanical/maintenance engineering field
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Previous experience with parts/equipment procurement and expediting process
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical power transmission, valves, piping, electrical power distribution, hydraulic and pneumatic  systems
  • Knowledge of electrical construction, code requirements, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Understanding of PLC functions, applications, and their use as a troubleshooting tool
  • Strong computer knowledge (Google Suite)
