Position Title: Finance & Accounting Specialist


Function Overview


This position is a key member of the Finance and Accounting department at Whirlpool’s Tulsa manufacturing facility and reports to the Finance Manager within the Plant Controller’s team. This role will interact closely with other members of the finance team as well as with engineering, operations, quality, HR etc. teams. We are looking for someone with an interest in manufacturing finance, who is curious to learn, enjoys data analytics, has attention to details and is comfortable with managing multiple priorities at once. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Month-end accounting by posting Journal Entries and performing JE reconciliation, ownership of maintaining Journal Entry books

  • Weekly Expense Tracking by Cost Center

  • Assisting with Weekly Control Tower reviews

  • Upload Monthly forecast spending into SAP

  • Send out SAP Forecast vs Actual Report

  • Monthly PO Report (blocked and open POs)

  • Follow up with Cost Center owners on PO status and help resolve payment issues with vendors.

  • Monthly Credit Card Transactions / rewards tracking and reporting

  • Supplier Chargeback Submission and Tracking

  • Scrap Sales Tracker and Scrap Sales Recon (Weekly Payment vs Scale Reports)

  • Perform SAP scrap transactions for engineering builds

  • Back-up to Capital Hub for journal entries, business case reviews, assets tracking, capital reviews etc. 

  • Participate as needed in audit activities, misc ad-hoc reporting and analysis


Minimum Qualification

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum 1 year experience in finance or accounting

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets


Preferred Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in a finance or accounting business environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setup

  • Proven ability to grow individual and organization competency

  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills

  • Must value the diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment
