A Warehouse Material Handler performs duties to support the daily production of the Whirlpool facility.  These positions are responsible for safe delivery, of the right materials, to the right location, in the right quantity, in the right condition,on-time, per requirements while using systems, tools and material handling equipment to perform these tasks.


A successful candidate for a Warehouse Material Handler position must be capable of performing and demonstrate the following:


  • Strong safety behavior -  Recognize hazardous conditions, take safety precautions and react appropriately.  Handle heavy and sharp objects materials, use of dangerous equipment, work and drive in areas with large numbers of employees, frequently lift and maneuver materials....

  • Frequent movement of materials and supplies throughout the facility - Use powered and non-powered material handling equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, tuggers, forklifts and stock chasers.

  • Good organization and planning skills - Requires self directed work, maintain a schedule and follow standard work, track progress, requirements and set plans to support requirements and changes. Timely picking and filling of orders and inventory control

  • Teamwork - Must be able to be part of a team, work together, and strive to achieve exceptional results.

  • Repetitive Lifting - Stand the full day, repeated lifting and positioning of materials throughout shift (loads from 1 lb-35 lbs)

  • Attention to detail - Read, pick and deliver to requirements, follow and develop detailed work plans, following standard work, accurately read and enter transactions, maintain the workplace, perform transactions in related software, keep stock inventory up to-date.




  • Experience operating material handling equipment or one that has demonstrated a very high level of driving/delivery success.

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Good reading and mathematics skills -  This job requires one to perform accurate calculations throughout shift, effectively read numbers and part details, read paperwork and work instructions, and perform safety checks.  The ability to understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

  • Ability to work overtime, afternoon or evening hours as needed, based upon shift assignment and production schedules

  • Computer skills and/or examples of added coursework a plus.  May be involved in system use, calculators, scanners and printing tools.

  • SAP experience a plus as it may be required to complete look ups, warehouse, shipping, inventory control and receiving transactions.

  • Ability to obtain Whirlpool Forklift Certification which requires valid Driver’s License, written test and driving test.
