Specialist, Technician (Goal share)


Functional Overview:


Currently, we are seeking a full-time Specialist, Technician within our Kitchen Aid team located in St. Joseph, Michigan. The incumbent will evaluate products, finalize data and conduct laboratory testing for the department.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform evaluations on products and components with minimal supervision
  • Complete performance testing on numerous electrical kitchen appliances
  • Establish fixtures to perform life testing for numerous appliances
  • Record and compile data and maintain accurate records
  • Prepare technical reports and verbally communicate results with recommendations and conclusions
  • Provide technical  problem solving techniques
  • Select and install new laboratory equipment
  • Assist with development and documentation of new test procedures
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Perform special assignments as needed
  • Follow a written recipe and have basic cooking and baking skills
  • Manage computer software and hardware updates, test and repair electrical and mechanical components including, motors, motor controls and Hall Effect sensor experience with the use of schematics and other specialized equipment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • 1+ years’ experience in laboratory environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 year degree
  • Experience in product development and reliability laboratory
  • appliance testing
  • Software Programming Skills: OPTO, PLC’s, Servo Motors
  • External Code Agency - Underwriters Laboratory (UL) experience
  • Proficient with various hand tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills   
  • Proficient PC Software skills and ability to work with record keeping systems, including Google tools and electronic databases
  • Follow general safety practices such as using necessary PPE when performing tests in a laboratory setting.  Maintain a clean and safe working environment
