This role in summary

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for an Engineering - Electronics, Electrical Systems and Innovation (EESI) Project Planner / Senior. Manager, Electrical Engineering located in Benton Harbor, Rio Claro, Fabriano, Cassinetta and Joinville are also options. This role is part of Strategic Planning Team for the EESI. This position will report to a Planning Director and will be responsible to manage the portfolio of projects and guarantee resources and budget are available, propose and align the right trade-offs and strategic plans with EESI process partners, manage the EESI Internal projects and drive process and continuous improvement activities. This position has one direct report.


Your responsibilities will include 

  • Project Portfolio management system - updated weekly, risks identified and followed up.
  • Competency based capacity (headcount) management inside EESI
  • Robust resource management to deliver the aligned project plan for current year and beyond
  • Champion of Development and Planning process
  • Governance & adherence of Portfolio & Project management system across EESI
  • Ensure resource assignments are aligned and in the Project Portfolio management system prior to project kick off
  • Solve complex capacity (headcount) problems, provide new perspective/existing solutions
  • Lead EESI internal projects, assignments and trade-offs by coaching and mentoring a direct report
  • Lead Continuous Improvement and Strategic initiatives, like the Product Development Process inside EESI, improve and simplify the current process and others
  • Drive the Reconciliation of the annual Planning cycle for all EESI
  • Be the role model for the other Project Planners

 

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in driving projects
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager
  • Experience leading and driving projects; risk management, cost delivery, financial planning, and analysis experience
  • Experience with Product Development process and Planning

 

Preferred skills and experiences

  • PMI certification
  • Drive continuous improvement of the planning process. 
  • Communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization across, finance, procurement, human resources and engineering. 
  • Adapt and re-prioritize activities in a rapidly changing environment. 
  • Recognize and assimilate seemingly unrelated pieces of information. 
  • PPM knowledge and PDx process development and implementation
  • Drive change and process improvements
  • Google Documents, Sheets, Slides
