This role in summary

CI (Continuous Improvement) Engineer- NAR (North America Region) Labs will report directly to CI Manager NAR Labs.  This role will be responsible for projects across all categories and labs in NAR.  

 Main focuses are:

  • Drive Consistency (Test to Test and Lab to Lab) in our test results
  • Identify and eliminate waste in our ability to measure physical models safely, accurately, quickly, and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the Project Teams on the creation / revision of test procedures
  • Accelerate the transition from physical to virtual testing

Your responsibilities will include

  • Use data analysis to find and follow up with consistency projects.
  • Learn how much variation of within/between lab variation and reduce it accordingly.
  • Get feedback from technicians, engineering groups and other stakeholders for lab improvement. Feedback includes different testing methods, lab insights and testing procedures.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders and lab leadership team for lab resource availability before, during and after test procedure changes.
  • Work together with lab supervisors and technicians to lean out test procedures to improve lab efficiency.
  • Mentor and provide decisions to lab technicians of lab efficiency projects.
  • Own Lab Metrics and use data analysis tools to see opportunities to improve.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience  in labs or manufacturing

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Certified Black Belt by Whirlpool Global OpEx 6 Sigma Standards, candidate in training is acceptable.
  • Proven track record in developing causal relationships, driving continuous improvement via Lean & OpEx tools, and a driver of positive change.
  • Proven personal effectiveness through integrity, motivation, dependability/reliability, willingness to learn, interpersonal skills, professionalism and initiative.
  • Java Coding skills
  • Google Macro Coding skills
