<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Today, you might be working with business leadership to support the maintenance of the roadmap for privacy compliance activities and the governance model for sustainable privacy practices. Tomorrow, you may be working closely together with the digital center of excellence and marketing teams to support define, implement and maintain privacy requirements and provide advice via a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 35 data protection impact assessment. At the end of the week, you may be reviewing privacy by design strategies for Whirlpool’s connected appliance initiatives, providing privacy awareness training, or developing privacy job aids for HR. 


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a GIS Senior Analyst position to join our Global Information Services (GIS) CyberSecurity Team, in Pero (Milan) Italy, as a member of the GDPR Compliance Team.





Your task in this role will include



● support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in delivering Whirlpool’s EMEA privacy compliance program to ensure organizational responsibilities for the GDPR and other data protection laws of the EMEA region 

● support in providing guidance and ownership for EMEA privacy policy and associated guidelines across applications, systems, processes and controls as well as across all internal business units and Whirlpool offerings for our customers 

● Be the main support of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa Privacy subject matter expert for the company, staying current with applicable privacy law 

● Advise on Whirlpool privacy impact assessments and on data protection impact assessments when required under Article 35 of the GDPR 

● Provide Whirlpool EMEA privacy training, education, and awareness 

● Monitor, track and ensure adequate processes are in place that provide timely resolution of privacy issues/complaints 

● collaborate in ensuring  adequate processes are in place to comply with the GDPR and other data protection laws; monitor, track and periodically audit these processes 

● starting with supporting the DPO in responding to  inquiries from data subjects on issues relating to data protection practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten, and related rights, and in the future taking a portion of the inquiries independently

● Coordinate with the DPO and the functional leadership to ensure privacy processes, procedures, and applicable intercompany agreements are current 

● Advise on privacy requirements for third party agreements 

● Support the DPO in preparing for active participation on the global incident response team for potential personal data protection events, investigations, and notifications, including simulations/exercises 

● Integrate the EMEA Privacy program with the regional Compliance function

● Working side by side with the DPO and preparing to share the DPO’s tasks independently in the future

● Strong ability in privacy by design and operational implementation of privacy processes within the business 

● Strong desire and aptitude for continuous learning and keeping abreast of new and emerging privacy practices and impacting technologies 

● Ability to travel globally 

● Bachelor’s degree required and minimum 3 years experience in Information Technology Operations and Privacy, Cyber Security, or Compliance role and proven record of dealing with data protection and privacy issues for a multinational organization or in consulting

● Strong knowledge of privacy laws and regulations of the EU (Italy, Germany and UK preferred) and International data transfers, particularly with the United States (e.g., Privacy Shield) 

● Expertise in European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the GDPR 

● IAPP Privacy Certification such as CIPM or CIPP/E
