This Role In Summary:

 

This job function is responsible for the engineering and technical operations within the Ottawa Operations. Activities include designing, constructing, testing, operating, and implementing equipment; ensuring that standards of safety, quality, cost, delivery, reliability, timeliness and performance are met in production processes. Interpretation of plans, drawings and specifications. Provide leadership and support to ensure manufacturing lines achieve business metrics. Continuously identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include

 

  • Lead capital projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and  cost.
  • Lead process implementation, process optimization, root cause analysis, and capacity increases.
  • Facilitate projects and teach / mentor / train shop floor teams in lean strategies and concepts.
  • Provide day to day support to the factory including problem solving, cost estimates, standard costs, labor and process flow / layouts.
  • Provide project management of new and existing equipment.
  • Work cross functionally with other teams to drive solutions to problems. 
  • Facilitate the implementation of WCM (World Class Manufacturing) strategy within the Findlay plant.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience

 

 

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

 

  • Well-developed communications, project management, coaching, interpersonal and team building skills.       
  • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks with minimal supervision yet seeks guidance when appropriate
  • Skills to research and understand root cause for product and process problems and drive improvement based on analysis
  • Working knowledge of Google, Microsoft Office, Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Ability to create complete sets of working  drawings. 
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Excellent problem solving skills
