This role in summary

 

Whirlpool is looking for a qualified candidate for the role of Manufacturing Operations Superintendent 3rd Shift, ,located at Ottawa Plant in Ottawa OH. .In this position, you will be responsible for overall plant operations for Superintendent  for Third shift.  You will primarily be focused on safety, quality, and delivery for Assembly Operations. This position will have Supervisory responsibility over one Assembly line in Upright Assembly Value Stream.  The Support department Supervisor, who has responsibility for the support operation will report to the Superintendent. This role is an overnight shift and work hours are  shift  9:30 pm to 6:30 am Sunday to Thursday. 
 

 

Your responsibilities will include

 

•    Assure proper utilization of facilities, tools, equipment, materials and manpower to effectively meet safety, quality and production requirements.
•    Maintain good employee relations and communications.
•    Carry out objectives established by operations management.
•    Assure that all plant policies and procedures are enforced and administered fairly and consistently. Provide input for salaried personnel ratings as required.
•    Serve as the key communication link with the other shifts to facilitate a smooth transition of data and clear communication of problems/issues.
•    Proactively recognize and address logistical problems in order to maintain a smooth production flow on subsequent shifts.
•    Lead improvement activities (WCM, Kaizen, etc..)
•    For this role, you must possess a proven track record of exceptional supervisory experience and demonstrate strong leadership, human relations, and team facilitation skills.
•    Interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
•    Detailed knowledge of the Division's operations policies and procedures.
•    Possess a strong working knowledge of plant manufacturing operations, processes and production flow.
•    Resolve a wide range of safety, quality, production, logistical and human relations problems by analyzing, observing and interpreting situations and data in a timely manner.
•    The focus must be on identification or "root causes" and taking the proper steps to resolve them.
•    Knowledge of Kronos, SAP, Google applications, etc.
•    Understanding of WCM (World Class Manufacturing)
•    You will need the ability to utilize in daily operations, strong knowledge of employee policies for policy interpretation and administration, and provide HR leadership on the shift.

Minimum requirements

 

•    Associate's degree (completed or in progress with anticipated completion by December 2023)
•    1+ years’  experience in manufacturing leadership
•    2+ years’ of manufacturing experience

 

Preferred skills and experiences

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Operations, or Supply Chain
•    Familiarity with Whirlpool policies and employee relations procedures
•    Proven success in a fast-paced environment
•    Proven success in the personal development of employees
•    WCM (World Class Manufacturing) experience
