Cost Accountant - Ottawa, OH

 

Function Overview:

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Cost Accountant  opening to join our Ottawa manufacturing plant finance team.  As a part of our team you'll maintain plant payroll, product costing, scap and usage analysis, cost deployment activities, and other ad hoc requests. This is a business facing role to support the operations team.  This is an hourly paid position.


 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Payroll

    • Execute payroll every other Monday & goalshare quarterly. Review and analyze for errors and submit to Corporate for processing. Reconcile to SAP. 

    • Follow up with supervisors throughout the week to ensure all exceptions are reviewed in Kronos.

    • Act as Ottawa Manufacturing site Kronos Administrator

    • Perform daily & weekly labor hours reporting  and distribute to people leaders.

    • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis related to labor hours including Hours Per Equivalent Unit (HPEU), Overtime, Absenteeism, variances from forecast, etc…

    • Perform month-end journal entries in SAP related to labor and hiring cost

    • Analyze temp agency invoices for discrepancies vs Kronos

 

  • Finance General

    • Product costing and Bill of Material adjustments in collaboration with Controller and Senior Financial Analyst

    • Standardize weekly/daily work to provide fast reporting and ability to take on value added projects and analysis

    • Execute month end journal entries in SAP and balance sheet account reconciliations to labor, scrap, scrap sales, usage, obsolescence and utilities

    • Assist with various annual profit plan reports and analysis

    • Product costing for standard changes

    • Engineering change notices for new product and product changes

    • Ad hoc reporting as needed

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Business, HR or related field OR

  • 2+ years of experience in  HR, Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping

  • 2+ years of experience working in Google sheets including function or ability to learn functions (vlookup, index, match, query, importrange)

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, HR or related field

  • 1-3 years experience in business analytics

  • Proficient in Kronos & SAP

  • Experience in product costing

  • Experience in manufacturing environment

  • Highly reliable and high level of integrity and confidentiality

  • Strong attention for detail and analytical skills

  • Insight driven and strong desire for impactful findings
