This role in summary

Whirlpool’s Ottawa Operation is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator for the Mayflower Project team. This role will report to the Work Place Integration (WPI) Sr Analyst and work cross functionally alongside plant resources and project resources to deliver the WPI Loop objectives. This role will be flexible and will change over the course of the project. This role will identify as well as create innovative solutions for the implementation of Built in Refrigerator (BIR)/Oberon at the Ottawa facility, following the WPI and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Methodologies. This person will be responsible for and the subject matter expert on a module of the BIR/Oberon Line.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Support loop progression on time and on target
  • New assembly line to be SAF/WO/LCS Step 3 Certified on the WCM Methodology
  • Coordinate benchmarking and knowledge sharing activities with Amana, including travel to and from Amana as necessary
  • Manage the updating of regular score cards throughout the WPI process
  • - Job Safety Risk Assessment (JSRA)’s 
  • - Job Safety Risk Position (JSRP)’s 
  • - Visual Standard Operating Procedure (VSOP)’s
  • - 3M
  • - Yamazumi’s
  • - Station Layout
  • - Rack Request
  • - MTA creation
  • - Assist in the help of Safety Emergency Work Order (SEWO) and Quality Emergency Work Order (QEWO)  closure countermeasures 
  • - understand PFMEA/O&R to be able to help drive quality in-station
  • - utilize FI tools for problem solving
  • -1 standard Kaizen a month
  • -4 quick Kaizens a month
  • -Submission of MPI’s
  • Collect and respond to suggestions from employees

Minimum requirements

  • 3+ years experience within Manufacturing Operations
