This role in summary

The successful candidate will be working directly with business owners, executives, senior buyers and merchandisers of regional and independent builder accounts in the assigned territory of Ontario/Quebec.  This person will develop and implement strategic business plans to profitably grow their business to achieve specific volume targets.  This person will ensure flawless execution of all contracts secured. 
 

Your responsibilities will include

  • Responsible for the overall sales and strategy in Ontario - Direct and distributor channels
  • Directly accountable for account P&L’s - that include Unit volume, sales, margin and profit dollars
  • Maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Responsible for price negotiations
  • Must maintain knowledge of  competitors – Products, marketplace activity and future direction, as well as the appliance marketplace:  distribution, customers, trends and direction
  • Work with trade marketing and brand marketing to provide product launch information in a timely manner
  • Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts for sales and operational planning meetings, including measuring actual results vs. forecasts provided
  • Focus on driving efficiencies and results through improving builder processes
  • Plan and organize a territory from a home office 
  • Travel within the territory via personal vehicle l (up to 80%) including on occasion, overnight evenings and weekends as necessary 

Minimum requirements

  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • 4+ years of experience in sales and/or marketing
  • Bilingual in English and French

  • Understanding of the builder marketplace, distribution, customers, trends and direction
  • Networking and communication skills; build strong internal and external working relationships
  • Negotiation skills. 
  • Understanding of financials
  • Operate at both a strategic and tactical level
  • Leadership, initiative and determination within a growth oriented team environment
  • Business acumen as well as understanding the economics of a business
  • Understanding and an appreciation for product category management and sales process
  • Proactive and decisive in driving increased revenue
  • Developed analytical and computer abilities 
  • Handle multiple activities and be self-motivated
