Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for an Assembly Process Engineer opening to join our Marion Manufacturing organization. In this position, you will take a lead role for engineering support for one of the main assembly lines. With the use of OPEX (Six-sigma) and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools, you will implement robust, sustained countermeasures in order to meet operational metrics. Additionally, you will continuously analyze and evaluate opportunities to improve assembly yield (AY), reduce operating costs, and first pass quality yield (FPY).

 

This role in summary

As a Process Engineer on the assembly team, you will be responsible for supporting the operation of a world class, high volume production line. In this challenging role, you will be called upon as a technical leader to drive continuous improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost of the process.

 

Your responsibilities will include

  • Drive continuous improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost for the assembly process.
  • Monitor and adjust process controls to maximize yield and ensure product meets quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership to help the team resolve day-to-day production challenges.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Lead projects to support new model launches, cost reduction efforts, equipment upgrades, and emerging disruptive technologies.

 

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

 

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Mechanical, Electrical or Technology Degree
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Experience
  • Experience with process controls
  • Previous experience with high speed manufacturing assembly lines
  • Critical thinking and diagnostic capability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Technical excellence with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and understanding of OPEX (Six Sigma) tools and the ability to apply them in order to improve manufacturing processes and tooling design  
  • Project management experience
  • Solid decision-making and judgement skills
  • Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
