The team you will be a part of

Whirlpool is looking for a candidate for our  Associate, Engineering, opening to join  our Global Materials Organization in Benton Harbor MI. In this role you will be responsible for delivering disruptive and innovative material driven technologies into the appliance space. The planner will have a key role in driving this initiative through tools of continuous improvement and strategic planning.

Your responsibilities will include

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Supporting the planning cycle, Involves training and troubleshooting Planisware (PPM) support for the Materials and Advanced Development organizations, as needed, as well as direct support of the planning functions

  • Planning cycle support in PPM by ensuring accuracy in scoping, loading, and bottleneck analysis. 

  • Continue to grow the understanding within the Materials organization of our contribution to the enterprise deliverables and how we can continue to grow, in that regard.

  • Program creation, project creation, resource allocation for Materials, ADI and platform projects

  • Responsible for Resource Bottleneck Analysis for Materials and ADI

  • Resource management and in year reallocation for Materials and ADI 

  • Competitive Intelligence management and delivery for both groups (improvement and execution of framework)

  • Balance Score Card/Dashboard support for tracking our yearly trackable goals 

  • Focus on continuous initiatives for the Materials technology department 

  • This is not a Supply Chain or Operations Roles, this is a role within the Advanced Development and Advanced Materials Technology groups within engineering 


Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or materials, chemical or related engineering field 

  • 1+ years experience within consumer products or the automotive industry

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Engineering 

  • Experience in financial analytics

  • Planisware (PPM) experience

  • Self starter with the capability to work across functional boundaries to solve problems

  • Experience in Google Suites

  • Previous experience working globally with different cultures

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and prioritize job responsibilities 

  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and excellent organization skills

  • Excellent presentation skills including strong oral and writing skills and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior leaders

  • A plus: Financial expertise and ability to create budgets, models, etc. and basic knowledge of Tableau

  • Advanced Google tools and Microsoft Office Skills (especially google spreadsheets (pivot table, data analysis, formula recognition), google documents, excel worksheets).

  • Ability to manage and coordinate processes and process improvement 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
