Responsibilities

 

In this position you will have the opportunity to coordinate and monitor activities of support manufacturing personnel, supervise some hourly support operation personnel and some management personnel as required.

  • Assure proper utilization of facilities, tools, equipment, raw materials and manpower to effectively meet safety, quality and production requirements.
  • Maintain good employee relations and communications.
  • Carry out objectives established by operations management.
  • Assure that all plant policies and procedures are enforced and administered fairly and consistently. Provide input for salaried personnel ratings as required.
  • Serve as the key communication link with the other shifts to facilitate smooth transition of data and clear communication of problems/issues.
  • Proactively recognize and address logistical problems in order to maintain a smooth production flow on subsequent shifts.
  • Facilitate logistics meetings as necessary.
  • You may be required to lead improvement activities as needed (WCM, Kaizen, etc..)
  • For this role you must possess a proven track record of exceptional supervisory experience and demonstrate strong leadership, human relations and team facilitation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Division's operations policies and procedures.
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of plant manufacturing operations, processes and production flow.
  • Must be able to resolve a wide range of safety, quality, production, logistical and human relations problems by analyzing, observing and interpreting situations and data in a timely manner.
  • Focus must be on identification or "root causes" and taking the proper steps to resolve them.
  • Knowledge of Kronos, WCM, SAP, Google applications, etc.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and WCM.
  • You will need the ability to utilize in daily operations, strong knowledge of employee handbook for policy interpretation and administration, provide HR leadership on the shift.    


 

Function

This sub-function is responsible for undertaking production activities to transform tangible inputs (e.g. raw materials or semi-finished goods) or intangible inputs (e.g. ideas, information, know how) into finished products or services. They may be involved in setting-up, calibrating and operating machines and equipment, supervision of arrangements, monitoring resources, following production schedules and quality standards, monitoring production processes and troubleshooting production problems.


 

This position is on 2nd shift.


 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Operations
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing leadership role


 

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with Whirlpool policies and employee relations procedures strongly preferred
  • Proven success in fast-paced environment
  • Proven success in the personal development of employees
  • WCM (World Class Manufacturing) experience
