Job Description


  • Packaging management of raw material and/or component parts to the plant and ensures material is available for production when needed including proactive and reactive problem solving with cross-functional partners within Whirlpool, 3rd party logistics (3PL’s), Carriers, and Suppliers.
  • Manage multiple project initiatives to support Material Control and Logistics (MCL). Generate reports and presentations based on metrics
  • Continuous improvement projects and documentation related to improving material management and material flow.


Function Overview

The purpose of this role is to provide packaging management of raw materials and/or component parts to Findlay Manufacturing and validate returnable packaging is available for production when needed.  This includes ensuring the material is shipped on time and received/stored accurately.

This role communicates directly with the supply base on any supply issues and works with internal partners on quality and inventory issues. This role also communicates directly with transportation teams for in-transit events tracking. This role participates and/or leads continuous improvement projects related to improving material/packaging management.


Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Engineering
  • 3+ years of Supply Chain Experience in a Manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements 

  • Knowledge  and understanding of manufacturing and supply chain concepts and parts flow.
  • Effective at developing and using standardized work
  • Excellent product development knowledge, experience in packaging design and approval 
  • Understands and employs basic change management methodology and lean concepts
  • Flexibility and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to create and implement new processes with minimal direction
  • Uses logic and problem-solving tools to develop plans to meet targets and look forward proactively and to prioritize
  • Can lead conversations with suppliers in a proactive, productive manner
