Process Engineer

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Process Engineer opening to join our Operations organization in Fall River, MA.  

Functional Overview:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Sr. Manager, the Process Engineer improves the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your skills to reduce cycle time and customer lead time, improve productivity, and reduce material cost. Also is in charge of the implementation of new machines, tools, and fixtures.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute the design and development of complex electro-mechanical devices
  • Develop detailed Computer Aided Design (CAD) design packages (3D data and 2D drawings) and Solid Works
  • Maintain day-to-day communication with cross-functional teams
  • Research and procedure sample components, and develop high-functioning design prototypes
  • Develop and execute prototype testing plans
  • Knowledge in the elaboration of Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Six Sigma and other process improvement strategies for cost efficiency and waste reduction
  • Identify deliverable targets and improve systems and processes for operational effectiveness
  • Optimize material usage, analyze tool and die systems, and complete weld integrity and failure analysis
  • Receive expert die skills training and modification recommendations with skilled trainers
  • Project Management of new projects with cross-functional teams to maximize return on investment for small and large scope projects
  • Build self-sustaining teams capable of driving ongoing change management
  • Developing undersea product line assemblies; including manufacturing processes
  • Developing tooling/die design concepts Interfacing with customers and suppliers
  • Planning and incorporation of design changes
  • Creating and overseeing projects using risk management techniques
  • Translating engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
  • Leading corrective action investigations to prevent a recurrence
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Providing technical leadership to multi-disciplined teams



Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years’ experience in driving continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen, Kanban, and Six Sigma, etc.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to work autonomously with little oversight and make prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information
  • Proven ability to grow individual and organization competency through proactive coaching and mentoring
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills
  • Must value the diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, AutoCAD, SAP, and Google
  • Familiarity with ISO regulations
  • Expert level of skill in the generation of detailed 3D and 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) data
  • Welding or Computer Numerical Control (CNC) or Laser cutting experience desired
  • Specialized Tooling Development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development) experience
  • Process familiarity with Paint
  • Understanding of Define for Manufacturing in Assembly (DFMA) Principles
