Manager, Manufacturing Maintenance


Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Manager, Manufacturing Maintenance opening to join our Operations organization in Fall River, MA.  


Functional Overview:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Sr. Manager, the Industrial Engineer is a key position that directs and is responsible for the workload in Assembly and Primary process in the plant. The Industrial Engineer will support the manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and estimating future requirements
  • Consistently ensures that job area responsibilities are promptly and efficiently carried out and nurtures a high level of teamwork and performance
  • Accountable for World Class Manufacturing activities and the execution of activities defined in that process while Pillar Lead through daily coaching in WCM tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrated leadership through the development of Team Leaders in the area to help drive daily work and long term improvements
  • Assists in determining immediate and future manpower, tooling, and equipment requirements
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Whirlpool manufacturing standards and methods
  • Analyzes blueprints and quality requirements to estimate worker hours
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Generating and maintaining labor standards
  • Conducting safety/ergonomic assessments
  • Developing work cell layouts and critical lift processes


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience in driving continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen, Kanban, and Six Sigma, etc.



Preferred Requirements:

  • 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to grow individual and organization competency through proactive coaching and mentoring
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills
  • Must value the diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, AutoCAD, SAP, and Google
  • Ability to work autonomously with little oversight and make prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information
  • Strong understanding of World Class Manufacturing principles and methodologies.  
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills
  • Must value the diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment
  • Masters’ Degree
