Assembly Operator

 

This Role In Summary:

 

Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate for an Assembly Operator.. This position is located at our Fall River, MA site. This role will be responsible for completing various tasks that include the quality assembly and installation of components on an automated moving conveyor system. 

 

Work Shift: 1st (6:45am – 3:15pm) overtime & Saturdays as needed 

 

 Responsibilities Will Include

 

  • Fasten or assemble light and medium size parts or make wire connections
  • Interact and/or run light machinery 
  • Operate electrical, hydraulic and air activated hand tools 
  • Read and follow standard work directions on the assembly line 
  • Work in a team environment embedded in lean manufacturing methodology
  • Drive plant performance through Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics
  • Keep work area clean and organized 
  • Area cleanliness for process flow improvement 
  • Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by area Supervisor or Department Manager
  • Lift 35 pounds consistently and stand for extended periods of time.

 

 

Minimum Requirements
 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years assembly or manufacturing experience 
  • 1+ years of experience in a continuous improvement environment

  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment 
  • Effective communication skills
