New Product Introduction (NPI) - Senior Engineer


This Role In Summary:

Whirlpool is currently seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) Senior Engineer to join our North American Region (NAR) manufacturing team.  This position will lead new product launch projects.  The position will be located in Clyde, Ohio. And lead product execution plans at our facility.  


Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead manufacturing team to deliver requirements to support new product launches into the Manufacturing (MFG) footprint; including creation & management of project scope, schedule, budget, reviews, and deliverables  
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, consumer design, product design, quality, procurement, safety, MFG engineering/ support, and materials teams to ensure all deliverables are understood and met
  • Engineering Build Planning
  • Ensure plant readiness of Safe Launch activity management 
  • Plans and prepares factory for new product launch
  • Manage Bill of Material (BOM) and component status
  • Facilitate factory analysis including capacity, equipment footprint, material flow/ storage, labor/cost roll-up, asset reuse, and Capital and Expense (CAPEX) submission
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing & office environment, walking long distances, stand on feet for long periods of time, minor lifting (generally 30lbs or less)
  • Ability to travel up to 30% travel (Domestic - depending on location)
  • This job is also located in Marion and Findlay Ohio


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience in a Manufacturing environment


Preferred Skills and Experiences:

  • Diverse background having experience with product engineering, marketing, procurement, manufacturing, etc.
  • Experience leading project teams from inception through completion with direct responsibility for execution.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Plan (APQP) in engineering build planning & execution desirable
  • Understanding & practical application of fundamental quality tools & statistics used for problem-solving.
  • Experience in applying technical knowledge to solve a range of problems.
  • Knowledge of Whirlpool Product Delivery & Whirlpool Production Systems
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
