This role in summary

This position reports to the Materials Manager and has the primary responsibility for the development and implementation of the World Class Manufacturing process. As such, it involves working on teams, leading teams and managing and hourly workforce to implement change. This must be done through the proper use of problem solving tools, adherence to plant scorecard metrics.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations, through the development of material flow studies, manpower efficiency studies the implementation of lean manufacturing concepts.
  • This position also involved with the design and implementation of material handling equipment strategies, parts storage locations and presentation, and materials business processes.
  • The successful candidate will be able to develop manpower efficiency (Yamazumi) charts and provide data for opportunities for job changes, combinations and eliminations

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering  
  • 3+ years Manufacturing experience
  • Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Lean Manufacturing Methods
  • Project management experience required.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in material flow studies
  • Understanding and working knowledge of statistics, quality control measures and methods, and industrial engineering principles.
  • PC proficiency utilizing MS Office, MS Project, VBA and CAD.
  • Proven leadership ability, excellent communicator, confidence inspirer, and self motivator
  • Practical IE experience, preferably with indirect manpower
