Function Overview

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Supervisor, Operations/Production opening to join our Operations organization in Cleveland, TN. The  Manufacturing Supervisor, Operations/Production is a key leadership position that directs and is responsible for the production operation. Today, you might be resolving productivity issues in operations. Tomorrow, you will be leading a Whirlpool Production System (WPS) event utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) root cause analysis tools or training your team to use those tools. The next day, aligning manpower to support production needs.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in a team based, continuous improvement environment
  • Initiate safety, cost, quality and productivity improvements in the manufacturing operations
  • Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis
  • Provide technical support/training to technicians and work teams and serve as technical resource and support to the teams in the department
  • Maintain quality standards within the department
  • Lead Whirlpool Production System (WPS) teams
  • Work with shop floor work teams, shop floor leaders, and other departments to ensure the greatest efficiency
  • Implement projects and special assignments as required
  • Lead and direct daily activities of shop floor quality and lean technicians

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 3+ years leadership in a manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills
  • Superior communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools and the ability to apply them in order to establish robust manufacturing processes
  • Proven problem-solving skills World Class Manufacturing (WCM) knowledge preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Expertise in a manufacturing-related environment with a good understanding of plant operations
  • Solid decision-making and judgment skills
  • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
  • Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
  • PC Proficient in Google Suites
  • Sheet Metal Fabrication including stamping, Welding and Manufacturing Operations preferred
