Work Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5am - 5pm (Work 36, Paid 40)

 

Job Duties/Essential Functions of the Group Leader role:

  • Responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale of a team of approximately 8-14 assembly associates. Group Leaders will be assigned a “home” area, but will be expected to learn multiple areas to support operations as needed. Rotation between areas will be planned to promote cross-skilling and transfer of best practices over time (approximately every 6-12 months). 

 

Day to Day Leadership for Team

  • Lead daily start-up meetings to share company communications, complete stretching and ensure employees have proper PPE

  • Assign associates to job stations based on skills ensuring success and safety of team

  • Serve as the first Help Chain resource for associates 

  • Complete scrap assessment with cross-functional partners and disposition 

  • Write and track maintenance work orders

  • Peer-to-Peer Coaching including initial verbal discipline

 

 

Onboarding and Skill Development

  • Lead the onboarding of new operators including an introduction to the area’s critical safety and quality information utilizing MTA’s as available

  • Coordinate training of new/existing operators to achieve Skills Matrix (3x3x3) targets and enable team rotations utilizing SOP’s and Standard Work Documents

  • Maintain Operator Classification for team and partner with Supervisor and WO/PD team to develop and execute training plans

  • Ensure employees are given the opportunity to complete GLINT surveys related to onboarding and ongoing engagement

  • Drive Continuous Improvement through the utilization of WCM Tools and Best Practices including, but not limited to the following

  • 5S: maintain strong 5S - including audits and use of Cleaning Calendars 

  • Tagging (SAF/WO/AM/PM): includes writing tags, taking action to close if within span of  control and escalating help needed.

  • SEWO (safety emergency work order):Immediate countermeasure implementation and participate in investigation of incidents 

  • TWTTP/HERCA: Lead operator interviews to identify actions needed to prevent “Man” issue

  • QEWO:Drive closure of QEWO countermeasures related to Man/Method and partner in all QEWO investigations with Control Plan Techs

  • Kaizen: Lead/participate in kaizen improvement projects


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Effectively communicate to all levels

  • Detailed knowledge of assembly process

  • Ability to operate necessary equipment

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and twist for 10 hours a day

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs without assistance 

  • Ability to transfer knowledge of standard work and visuals to associates

  • Ability to audit jobs and operators relative to standardize work 

  • Computer skills or including Google Suite, SAP(can be taught), Gensuite(can be taught)

  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed to support production requirements 

  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned
