Key Requirements of the CMM Programmer role:

  • CMM programmer  level with ability to develop and write CMM programs using PC.DMIS for PPAP, FPP, Engineering Projects, CPM, WPS, and OPEX projects

  • Create CMM programs for all new parts and update old programs as new requirements are identified ( whole part layout to be provided along with the agreed to short program for critical measurements)

  • Measure and analyze fabricated and purchased parts to print specification (PPAP) -

  • Design and develop part fixturing for proper measuring setup for both PPAP and on-going production support.- With instruction from Senior programmer

  • Root cause analysis of assemblies of parts and input on corrective actions

  • Provide assistance with maintain database of fabricated part measurements including Cp and Cpk; insure linkage between PC-Demis and QC-CALC are maintained- 

  • Ability to work flexible schedule including OT and Weekend hours to support production needs and new product launches

  • Coaches and develops cmm operators and Entry level programmers

  • Leads proper troubleshooting and maintenance requirements of CMM equipment

  • Assistance with maintaining records of daily CMM checks via QCalc, QC gauge, or Google Sheet

  • Develop scan and probe programs to check parts for production,  special checks, and PPAP needs

  • Ability to setup holding fixtures on a set up plate per instruction sheet 

  • Assist in the development of CMM fixtures and fixture setup sheets

  • Assist in the maintaining of special checks request log and files

  • Assist CMM Programmers and operators in the development of programs for daily production parts.

  • General understanding of all basic WPS tools especially Quality Reactive tools,7 Basic Tools, 3G/5G, 5W1H, 5WHY, 4M, Quick Kaizen, TWTTP/HERCA, LUTI

  • Effectively communicate with associates and management in a team based environment

  • Monitor and effectively utilize WPS tools to improve key metrics (Safety,  FPY, OEE /Linknet)

  • Ability to Pull models from Creo and translate into programs to create detailed layout reports.

  • Assist Quality department with Sorting, inspection, and validation of components and products

  • Assist quality department in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for components and products

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted

  • Ability to operate necessary equipment to assist team members

  • Ability to stand on feet 10 hours or more per day

  • Ability to wear required PPE for the area

  • Must be available to work daily/weekly OT hours as required to support team members

 

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Level 1 and 2 PcDims certifications with ability to complete level 3

  • Time management skills

  • Computer skills – Proficient in the use of Google tools, MS Excel/Word, Creo, Autocad, polyworks, windchill, QC calc / Gauge

  • Familiarity with OPEX(Six Sigma) methods or WPS 

  • Expert technical understanding of CMM equipment operation and programming

  • Expert in the use of PC. DMIS software; must have completed all levels of programming training 

  • Expert in the use of MS Excel or Google Sheets – data entry and analysis (charts, graphs, etc)

  • Expert in the use of Creo2 Parametric to look up 3D models

  • Proficient in GD&T

  • HIgh level communicator with demonstrated ability to coach and develop junior CMM Programmers

  • Must have proven ability to work with minimal supervision and direction - self-starter

  • Wll be asked to create a basic CMM program from a model file provided during interview process on one of our existing CMM machines

  • Must be available to work daily/weekly OT hours as required to support team members
