THE TEAM:

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Senior Designer within the Brand Design team for a first-of-its-kind new division: Project X. Tasked with innovating the consumer experience and building the future of marketing at Whirlpool, Project X is the next generation of advertising, storytelling, and experience. With resounding support from executive leadership, armed with the latest digital marketing tools and award-winning creative and talent, our goal is nothing short of super-charging Whirlpool Corporation through investing in creativity and improving consumers’ lives inside millions of homes. The Senior Designer will be instrumental in building and maintaining our suite of brands through building robust design systems, brand identity structures, digital and experiential moments for our brand and brands to come to life. 


Leading the work for iconic brands like KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Jennair, Maytag, Amana, and more, this highly visible, business-critical division will be heavily invested in increasing the total output of campaigns, content, design, experiences, and digital innovations across all consumer touchpoints (film, social, digital, experiential, etc).

THIS ROLE IN SUMMARY

In this role, you will support the Brand Design Team who’s responsible for bringing to life inspirational brand and digital design systems, campaign design, packaging (for KitchenAid) and spatial experiences for the full portfolio of the North America appliance brands (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir, Maytag and Amana). Your scope of work will deliver strategic, cohesive, modern, powerful brand expressions and experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Design obsessed with a strong aesthetic and passion for creating design systems, brand identity design and packaging solutions that span print, digital and experiential touchpoints.
  • Connect, converse and collaborate within the Project X organization to tackle new initiatives and meet unexpected creative challenges.
  • Elevate the design thinking and creative; constantly innovating.
  • Work to upgrade and expand brand and digital identity systems for each brand across each consumer touchpoint along the customer decision journey.
  • Reflect and express brand strategies through compelling visuals across multiple consumer touchpoints. 
  • Mentor junior talent within the team.
  • Aid in the design production of creative assets for all our brands. 
  • Develop impactful, creative ideas and execution that deliver and adhere to the brand standards, ensuring cohesion and consistency in addition to being flexible and willing to push creative boundaries when applicable.
  • Collaborate with key internal partners to establish goals, and elevate the look and feel of our brand and customer experiences.
  • Participate in a collaborative working environment across creative disciplines and across the agency.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

 

Please note: You must provide a portfolio of design work with your application to be considered for this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • ~5-8 years of graphic design experience for established brands
  • Experience creating and designing robust design and brand identity systems
  • Experience in an agency or in-house setting
  • Experience with print, digital and experiential design
  • Experience with creative software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and GoogleSuite products
  • Portfolio of great creative work 
  • Experience developing design systems and brand identities
  • Proven ability to deliver and maintain craft excellence at scale
  • Compassionate team mate
