You will be part of our Global Hardware Organization, working on innovative products for our Customers, in the constant pursuit of improving life at Home


This role in summary

The Hardware Engineering position is responsible for designing electronics, from requirements to production release embedded in Whirlpool Appliances. You will execute engineering tasks as part of cross-functional teams for new product development programs responsible for concepts, requirements, design, analysis and test. The specifics of this role are focused on design, analysis and test of

electronic controls over a wide range of operational environments, markets and feature sets.


Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop and validate embedded hardware applications based on microcontrollers, mostly focused on HMI and Power Electronics (AC and DC Loads, Fans, IGBTs)
  • Design hardware solutions to drive system optimization, improve module/component design and enhance product reliability.
  • Interact with system architects/integrators to review and consolidate application requirements.
  • Select and integrate off the shelf hardware modules to build embedded hardware applications.
  • Electronic/Electrical Circuit Model/Simulation
  • Prototype assembly bring up, debugging, and functional verification.
  • Support to V&V team during the validation and certification of the final product
  • Working with and managing suppliers/manufacturing partners.
  • Embedded Hardware and Documentation (Model, Schematic, Simulation, Component list)
  • Technical documentation issue (Hardware Design Description, FMEA, HFA)
  • Support to PCB Layout and review execution.
  • Requirements Review (input) and requirements capturing (Hardware)
  • Test plan development and execution supporting V&V team
  • Hardware modules reuse plan and integration.
  • Project KPIs (cost, quality, schedule)
  • Supplier management (technical) until Pilot (connecting with procurement as needed)



Minimum requirements

  • 5 + Electrical engineering background (both hardware and software).
  • Experience with industry standard, Hardware and PCB Layout development and tools (Cadence as preferred).


Preferred skills and experiences

  • Ability to work with both Global and regional Groups inside EES and Cross platforms, influencing positively the organization in all directions (both Vertical and Horizontal).
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification and manufacturing support.
  • Preferred skills in OPEX (6 sigma,), EMC&EMI theory, A3 methodology, Power supply Theory. Bridge Power Controls Theory.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • English is a must
