The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

Ensures process technology development across EMEA region factories, in terms of equipment, tooling and business solutions. The role is located in Cassinetta di Biandronno #LI-Hybrid. 

Your responsibilities will include

  • Analyze the feasibility of new products/component in terms of manufacturing requirement and standard, select new/best process to manufacture products
  • Execute design for manufacture on new product launch projects
  • Drives Early Equipment Management, new equipment specification & validation,  offers evaluation and participates in supplier sourcing & selection
  • New equipment executes, equipment management, delivery, installation, testing & handover, maintenance plan definition, spare parts strategy, according to Whirlpool equipment acquisition process and WCM  standards.
  • Ensure knowledge management & step improvement transfer/sharing versus local IE& Advanced Manufacturing team
  • Support equipment/process improvement activities, increase equipment availability and reduce life cycle cost
  • Harmonize EMEA solution with cross regional initiatives
  • Explores & Launches new leading edge technology initiatives
  • Collaborate with plant resources to integrate the new product and process into existing factory master plans, considering WCM pillar requirements  

Minimum requirements

  • Proven similar experience in the role with 2/3 years of experience in plant/tool shop or machines design
  • Engineering degree preference for Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of metal processes (forming/welding/cutting//joining), automation, gluing processes
  • Automation and mechanical Assembly and Material Handling expertise (VSM, standardized work, material flow analysis, etc.)
  • Very good task management skills 
  • Very good communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills
  • Strong process orientation (focus on how, not just what)
  • Fluent in English
  • Availability to travel, must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time with some international travel.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
