You will be part of a Global CAD and MA team (NAR, LAR, EMEA and Asia)  


This role in summary                                                                                                        

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for an Associate Designer opening in our Cooking Platform.                                                                                                          

The Associate Designer (CAD/Product Designer) is responsible for delivering project related product design, documentation and transition to production activities                                                                                                      


Your responsibilities will include                                                                                                            

  • Lead basic project design objectives and the selection of design approaches. Coordinate design, documentation, and transition to production activities related to new product design and development.                                                                                                               
  • Develop design concepts from verbal, written, or physical descriptions and/or specifications while applying Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly concepts. Includes completing design layouts of components, assemblies, and products.                                                                                                              
  • Provide status reports and attend design review and pre production activities as appropriate.                                                                                                         
  • Perform tolerance analysis and apply to designs.                                                                                                              
  • Prepare and revise robust solid models* and detail drawings of complex components and assemblies from design layouts, marked prints, sketches, and verbal instructions.                                                                                                       
  • Develop novel components to address new product design challenges.                                                   
  • Prepare engineering notices and structure bills of material for assemblies. Create and maintain master assemblies.
  • Work with internal and external tool makers, fabricators, and process partners to optimize designs and assemblies.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Minimum Requirements                                                                                                    

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design                                                                            
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in drafting and product design                                         
  • Knowledge of Creo Solid modeling and Sheet Metal is required; experience with additional Creo modules and Windchill may be beneficial                                                                                                    


Preferred skills and experiences                                                                                                            

  • Preferred work experience in designing the following component types: sheetmetal, injection, blow molded, thermal formed and extruded plastic parts.                               
  • Knowledge of Top Down design, master assemblies, and skeletons                                                                                                        
  • Experience with engineering bills of material and engineering change control.                                                                                                    
  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive schedules. Strong organizational, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.
