Job mission

Develop and implement sourcing strategies achieving cost reduction results ensuring high value support by targeted supply base, supply base optimization,  managing the relationship with key internal business partners in different functions (Managers/Top Managers) and at market organization level, maintain a strong alignment with the central Procurement Department. 

 

Your task in the role will include

  • Establish appropriate goals for annual total cost year over year productivity, cash flow improvement, supplier footprint, supplier evaluation, development and performance, and new product sourcing. 
  • Plan and manage buyers in the execution and support of the sourcing category strategies 
  • Ensure full alignment of new business awards with the right central procurement category managers
  • Lead the supply base relationship with the key suppliers
  • Support the achievement of functional goals (best service at best cost & quality)
  • Connect with key business stakeholders collecting their business needs and translating them in action plans to support 
  • Plan a strategic roadmap for each category of Spend for the local market in alignment with central category team
  • Step in the process include: internal assessments of Company/subsidiary current and future needs; assessments of market trends and supply base; understanding of supplier economics, agreement on optimal relationship between Company and prospective suppliers; assessment of total cost of ownership and opportunities to leverage changes in process, systems and products to lower that cost; 
  • Direct a category  (or multiple) of Spend - Lead the process to select and manage vendors.
  • Monitor contract  compliance; solve operational issues with vendors (e.g., quality, delivery and service  issues) and adjust sourcing strategies based on supplier performance and business unit input. 
  • Communicate to Management - On an ongoing basis   responsible for holding quarterly supplier reviews and ensuring progress to YoY supplier improvement goals
  • Identify and prioritize sourcing projects within the spend area scope for annual procurement plans.  Lead/participate in cross-functional teams in the development of sourcing strategies.
  • Develop an expertise in the assigned spend categories and be the single point of reference for the company
  • Support the key stakeholders’ adherence to the internal policies and be a champion / ambassador for them and for the compliance performances

 

Background and experiences

  • Master’s technical degree or degree in Economics or Management
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in procurement, better if into the indirect space. International experience or experience in multinational companies is a plus.
  • Currently covering a managerial role with people management experience (min. 2 years)
  • Fluent English is mandatory
  • Italian is a plus 
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is required. SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Availability to travel minimum 1 week per month without constrictions 
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to quickly build strong rapport and relationships with internal process partners and suppliers
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong team working skills
  • Ability of multitasking and prioritizing activities with strict deadlines 
  • High ethics and integrity behaviour
