As the Subject Matter Expert, The Senior Manager, Engineering- Global Materials (Metals & Coatings) will be responsible for leading and driving  technical strategy across materials technologies, including project execution, knowledge creation/capture, technical mentorship and consistent sound engineering practices.

 

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Define Materials Strategy based on the proper and robust Technology roadmaps for the assigned technology stream

  • Design the technology roadmaps supporting the development of the innovation pipeline, and IP pipeline strategy

  • Global responsibility on the development and execution of raw materials strategy in collaboration with key partners as Subsystem leads, System Integrators, Procurement and Manufacturing

  • Own and drive the Materials Value Team (Materials, Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality working Team) strategy reinforcing the Technology impact, including clear and robust input about new technology trends ( 3-5 years)

  • Engage with the supply base to develop a collaborative strategy model (build and cultivate partnerships) 

  • Leverage knowledge through key suppliers and liaison to other external organizations

  • Lead/Coach to set and grow a solid, effective technology network/external technology strategic partnership (suppliers, Universities, etc)

  • Accountable for the execution of technology programs and projects, with proper controls and management of technical risks, to ensure work is planned and conducted on a sound engineering basis in respective discipline space

  • Coach, lead and mentor to develop and grow technical expertise throughout the organization

  • Lead systemic problem solving & risk assessment to close knowledge gaps in major subsystems

  • Drive Materials Governance and Complexity Reduction

  • Drive Technical Design Previews (TDP)

  • Drive reuse knowledge and materials across Platforms and Architectures

  • Reinforce and continuously improve the knowledge belonging to the proper technology field embedding all new technology trends and connections with the relevant Industrial Process Technology and Process.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Materials or Chemistry preferred; Master or PhD levels preferred)

  • 7 years of solid experience in metals and coatings development and/or industrialization

  • People leadership and communication skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Project Management skills


 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience managing metals and coatings technology in advanced industrial field

  • Experience in metals and coatings application at subsystem and manufacturing levels
