Senior Financial Analyst - Global Strategic Sourcing 


Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Financial Analyst opening to join our Global Strategic Sourcing Finance organization.

 

Function Overview

 

This is a great opportunity to be a key member of the Global Strategic Sourcing finance team, with specific focus on the North America region. In this position you will provide analytical support for Commodity Business Teams, management of material price variance accounting and forecasting processes, annual profit plan, cash flow optimization, and ad-hoc analysis in support of the Strategic Sourcing Organization.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Drive Analytical Insights for Commodity Business Teams

  • Deliver analytical insights and influence decision making by Commodity Business Teams within the North American region.
  • Establish relationships with process partners in Global Strategic Sourcing that facilitate effective collaboration and drive process partner behavior.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Global Strategic Sourcing financial reporting and analytics, with emphasis on achieving simplicity, visibility, and business impact.

 

Material Price Accounting and Forecasting

  • Drive improvements in month-end financial close process, ensuring assessment of material price variance results and completion of all necessary accounting transactions within closing timeline.
  • Proactively engage with business partners regarding required accruals or adjusting entries to ensure accuracy in reported financial results.
  • Collaborate with individuals across North America finance organization to ensure effective and accurate financial reporting processes and internal controls.
  • Manage material price variance forecasting process, including analysis of pricing trends and assessment of forecast changes over time.
  • Monitor material price variance forecast status and engage with Commodity Business Teams to challenge assumptions or help to assess opportunity or risk versus expectations.

 

Annual Profit Plan

  • Drive material price variance planning across multiple Commodity Business Teams, including target-setting and identification of productivity initiatives in plan.
  • Support and influence Commodity Business Teams in overall financial planning effort, including the impact of new supplier relationships, negotiation strategies and productivity expectations.
  • Review financial assumptions, supplier pricing, and standard cost included in Profit Plan to ensure reasonability and consistency with overall financial objectives.

 

Ad-Hoc

  • Complete ad hoc analysis of North America Strategic Sourcing results, including analysis of productivity and sensitivity analysis on key cost drivers.
  • Drive activities to improved North America Region Free Cash Flow (NAR FCF) (Payment Term Standardization, Fiscal Year Opportunities, Supply Base Reduction, Currency Initiatives)
  • Utilize knowledge of processes and systems to advise on appropriate data sources for analysis.
  • Respond to audit related information requests as necessary.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in accounting or finance

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA
  • CPA
  • Knowledge of SAP with data mining capabilities
  • Strong operation finance knowledge and problem resolution skills
  • Outstanding communications, prioritization, planning, and teamwork skills
  • Outstanding people skills with the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization and with many diverse individuals and cultures
  • Achievement oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Intermediate user of MS Excel, Business Warehouse, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Presentations
