Senior Category Analyst, Refrigeration and Dishwashers


Function Overview

Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Senior Analyst Category Management. The Senior Analyst is responsible for developing actionable analyses and selling stories, uncovering insights/implications to help optimize category flooring, distribution and assortment


Job Responsibilities

This role requires the individual to analyze available data/information to create and share sustainable win-win growth strategies for Whirlpool and the category

Work closely work with merchandising, sales, shopper marketing and shopper insights; and is accountable for delivering insights-driven strategies

Understand the category and the marketplace

Leverage existing and new data sources to tell meaningful category stories, identifying and communicating Whirlpool growth opportunities

Provide insight into optimal product assortment and floor organization

Act as a liaison for shopper research

Translate category analytics and shopper insights into specific recommendations

Recommend, test and implement new merchandising growth solutions

Help drive category management logic and principles into Whirlpool’s operating model


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in at least one of the following fields: sales, merchandising, marketing, analytics, or insights


Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Business
  • MBA
  • CPG/Retail commercial experience OR home appliance category experience
  • Ability to utilize data to create compelling sales stories and solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, partnering, influence, and presentation skills  
  • Candidate must possess strong business acumen
  • Sophisticated analytical and reporting capabilities is preferred
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated, high sense of urgency
