This role in summary

Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate to join our organization supporting Whirlpool in driving material cost performance and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization. You will support sourcing teams in realizing cost opportunities across the global supply chain as well as to identify complexity reduction opportunities by conducting analysis on spend, design and sourcing data. The successful candidate will work within the Procurement Data Analytics group and work closely with the Commodity Management organization as well as cross-functional partners in Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Design. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to interact globally with employees from multiple Whirlpool sites across North America, South America, Europe, India, and China.

Your responsibilities will include

•     Meet or exceed Annual Savings Opportunity targets for assigned commodity through the use of sophisticated analysis tools including cost benchmarking, best-of-best analysis, regression analysis, Linear Programming Problems (LPP), and price analysis over time by supplier and sub-commodity
•    Collaborate with commodity managers, buyers, cost modeling and engineering teams to drive total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization  projects
•    Develop cost driver and raw material impact analysis for assigned commodities and identify cost take out opportunities; recommend pricing strategies
•    Present findings and recommendations to senior management
•    Prepare fact-based data packs for commodity teams to use in negotiations
•    Develop dashboards and data visualizations in Google Data Studio and Tableau
•    Assist in bid analytics during Request For (RFx) Events, including total landed cost calculations and support in developing sourcing scenarios
•    Track global spend data, develop spend analytics dashboards, and lead spend optimization projects including standardization of global commodity codes, analysis of part similarities, top spend parts, and similar activities
•    Support Complexity reduction projects and analytics (e.g. Complexity Tree)
•    Track execution of savings opportunities through commodity Key Performance Indicators  (KPIs)


Minimum requirements

•     Bachelor’s Degree 
•    3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or Business
•    Experience with Analytical Tools such as MS Excel and Business Intelligence tools such as Google Data Studio or Tableau


Preferred skills and experiences

•     Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance or Statistics
•    Analytical and computer-related skills. Ability to manipulate large data sets through standard analytics software packages and applications
•    Interpret drawings and technical specifications as well as relevant cost knowledge for different types of commodities
•    Self-driven individual, able to work with minimal direction to consistently look for opportunities
•    Data consolidation & presentation skills. Ability to analyze, synthesize information from diverse sources, present findings clearly/concisely, and communicate that analysis effectively to business partners 
•    Communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage/prioritize multiple key activities simultaneously
•    Work cross-functionally in a diverse environment and to quickly build strong rapport and relationships with business partners, including interaction with Senior Leaders and working across multiple regions/time zones
•    Experience with purchasing of Direct Commodities and supply chain management
•    Exposure to Project Management skills
•    Grow your technical abilities to become a subject matter expert
•    Expertise in Google Sheets, Scripts, Data Studio & Slides, Tableau, SAP, and other Business Intelligence Tools
