Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Regulatory Compliance Sr. Analyst opening in our Global Product Safety function.



Job Description:

 As a Regulatory Compliance Analyst within Whirlpool’s Global Product Safety organization, you’ll have the opportunity to work with Product Safety Managers, Product Specialists and our internal Early Alert inspection laboratory personnel to develop data systems, databases and analysis tools used as the foundation of product investigations and used when reporting on issues pertaining to alleged product safety concerns.  In this role, your work will contribute to the use and development of existing and new data systems, analytical tools and additionally, evaluate emerging technology to enhance the team’s effectiveness and productivity in an ever-changing, dynamic environment.




  • Lead efforts in processing, monitoring, and auditing of records from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and other Regulatory Agencies in our databases
  • Track field incidents reported to Whirlpool using a variety of tools and techniques, as well as helping to refine and improve these same tools and techniques
  • Run database reports:
    • Workflow statistics reports
    • New significant issues for further study
    • Trending of issues
    • Targeted issue investigations in response to Government inquiries
    • Audit reports
  • Lead efforts relating to the documentation and additional provisions to improve databases for ever-evolving process changes and legal requirements
  • Monitor and identify opportunities for efficiency gains in our processes
  • Develop improvements to the quality of our data for:
    • Better data resolution to find subtle emerging issues
    • Standardizing terminologies wherever possible to improve reporting capabilities
    • Developing new terms or data fields to better classify records to improve reporting capabilities
  • Develop short/med/long term data needs and strategies to meet those needs
  • Learn the technical makeup of Whirlpool’s products and to be able to understand cause and effect relationships based on reported field events and lab inspections


Basic Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 7+ years of Product Safety experience


Proffered Requirements:


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access databases
  • Knowledge of database table relationships and normalized data structure
  • Ability to locate and interpret varied date from multiple sources and detect patterns and common elements
  • Proficiency writing MS Access queries, reports, and VBA code modules
  • Proficiency with creating cross-tab queries
  • Proficiency with SQL server services, .net is a plus
  • Ability to anticipate needs and automate non-value-added processes wherever possible
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Good Planning, organization and communication skills
  • Solid analytical skills as well as critical thinking and creativity
  • Must be very thorough and accurate with close attention to detail
  • Solid people skills with the ability to play lead roles or supporting roles as individual situations dictate
  • Solid presentation skills and the ability to prepare materials for presentation that can meet the requirements of an intended audience made up of lay people as well as subject-matter experts as needs dictate
