This role in summary

 

We are seeking a qualified candidate for a Brand Management role. This role is a consumer-centric marketing leader for our Consumer Products (CP) team.  This role is located at our Riverview, MI site. In this role, you will lead brand, product and shopper marketing for our laundry detergent, appliance cleaner, water filter and post purchase categories under our Swash, Affresh, Everydrop and Parts and Accessories brands.
 
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Brand & Product within the CP function, this position requires someone that is a passionate consumer and brand champion, and can help drive thought leadership and strategy within the organization. The right candidate can deliver both long range category and brand strategy as well as annual marketing & Go To Market (GTM) plans. The ability to influence and drive change across a broad organization, and motivate and empower teams to achieve results through others are essential. You will lead a team of 1-2 brand and product marketers in this position.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop product roadmaps for one (potentially two) of the following: Detergent, Appliance Cleaning & Water categories
  • Lead new business development & white space opportunities inclusive of marketplace trends and supplier relationships
  • Ensure consumer & shopper insights, purchase drivers, and other bodies of research are leveraged to drive fact-based, consumer-driven product plans that support our brand positioning
  • Drive results by uniting Merchandising, Brand, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Finance to deliver effective, coordinated and comprehensive product launches and brand plans to the market
  • Develop and execute brand and shopper plans that showcase our product leadership and consumer benefit stories within each phase of the Consumer Decision Journey
  • Work with the finance team to develop and present project business cases including pro forma financials, capital requirements, and other financial and non-financial decision metrics
  • Oversee day-to-day business activities including product specification changes, quality improvement, cost reduction, production changes, etc.
  • Build and evolve the Swash, Affresh & Everydrop brands through:
  • Ownership and activation of the brand strategy
  • Development of strategic marketing plans 
  • Oversee the development and execution of consumer communication
  • Lead multi-agency relationships (Advertising, Media, Digital, Social, PR and In-Store, Consumer Promo)
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly brand business performance analysis

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of marketing experience in product development, brand management, shopper marketing, merchandising or sales

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Master’s degree 
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Consumer Product Goods (CPG) or related consumer focused brand marketing experience 
  • Experience with P&L management desired
  • Experience with managing and developing a team
  • Experience developing innovation roadmaps, business cases & launching new products that drive business growth
  • Experience working with CPG retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Food, Big Box etc.)
  • 2+ Project management skills and experience
  • 2+ years of experience influencing and driving results within a matrix organization
  • 2+ years of experience using analytical skills, negotiating
