This Role in Summary


Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of  Manager, Benefits in Benton Harbor, MI to join our Global Human Resources organization.  This position oversees the activities of the HR Specialists who manage the execution of HR benefit programs, in addition to operationalizing and executing the Benefit Centor of Excellance, (COE) strategies. Position will supervise, direct, and evaluate staff.



Your Responsibilities Will Include 


  • Build, lead and develop a team of HR Benefit Specialists responsible for the operational execution of our Whirlpool benefit programs
  • Act in a consultative and project management role to COE’s to define and implement program delivery
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure services are effectively delivered
  • Ensure HR programs are developed with robust metrics defined so that they can be continually measured and improved over time
  • Identify and recommend methods to update, simplify and enhance processes, procedures and technologies
  • Interpret, communicate, and apply HR Ops objectives, policies, and procedures 
  • Use general understanding of procedures, policies, knowledge database, other reference materials and judgment to assist in resolving complex issues 
  • The functional specialist team will act as the primary interface to COE’s, Business HR and Non-HR functional departments to appropriately escalate inquiries/concerns
  • Handle complex or escalated inquiries or transactions
  • Oversee team performance and manage communication and information flow to increase efficiency
  • Coach and develop functional specialist staff; approve and may lead training and development activities 
  • Analyze operational performance of HR programs against established metrics



Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ year(s)  experience in Human Resources


Preferred Skills and Requirements


  • Bachelor’s  Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Related Field
  • Experience in a supervisory position or operational management preferred
  • CoE or HR Business Partner experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources benefits policies, practices, and procedures, legal and regulatory requirements 
  • Experience developing and implementing customer service strategies preferred
  • Experience developing/managing teams 
  • Consistently deliver high quality customer service in a professional manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to develop and deliver verbal and written communications which convey complex information in a simple, easily understandable manner
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Identify and analyze issues based on data or available information
  • Maintain objectivity under pressure
