IoT Quality Manager


Functional Overview:
Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for an Internet of Things (IoT) Quality Manager opening to join our GIS - Global Information Systems organization. This role reports up through the GIS-GPO IoT Director and will have a primary focus on leading Delivery Operations as it relates to Quality Management, Strategic Execution, and General Quality Assurance.  This position will be responsible for representing IT among all the IOT Quality elements (Marketing, Global Consumer Design, Legal, Product Firmware, Product Engineering and Delivery, Information Systems), to ensure product quality for the consumer.

  • This role reports up through the IT Global Product Organization Leadership with dotted line accountability to the Global Quality Organization and will have a primary focus on leading Quality Practices as it relates to Software and Application Quality Management, Strategic Execution of Quality initiatives, and General Quality Assurance
  • Lead and provide governance over the Quality Assurance activities associated with the Global IoT Platform, Mobile Applications, and Connected Product Features (i.e. Consumer Quality Metrics, Product Performance, drive resolution of critical quality product issues, Pre Product Launch Quality Assurance).
  • Work closely with IOT Operations Team to ensure quality is part of Change, Incident Management.  This includes working closely with the Operations Manager to develop and execute a quality driven test strategy.
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement best practices and technologies that will drive high quality digital deliverables across the IoT value chain
  • Share accountability to manage outsourcing partners as well as internal teams, and foster active collaboration across various stakeholders
  • Working Knowledge of new technologies, trends, processes and industry strategies in order to drive best in class digital product quality.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of experience in software or firmware quality management
  • Working knowledge of IOT workspace

Prefered Requirements:

  • Master’s degree
  • Strong business acumen, coupled with the ability to communicate findings & insights in a clear and concise manner across various audiences as needed, which can range from peer groups within IT & business to senior leadership. 
  • Previous experience in developing and leading Software and Application Quality Management organizations (people, processes and technologies) who specialize in IoT or Digital platform testing & execution
  • Ability to effectively manage remote resources with a hands on management & execution style
  • Experience operating in a cross functional environment in a strategic manner to achieve maximum results through a small set of specialized resources.
  • Familiarity with the concepts related to several of the following technical and IT disciplines: 
    • IOT
    • DevOps
    • Cloud Computing
    • Micro-service Architecture
    • Machine to Machine Interfaces
    • Mobile App Development and Testing (iOS & Android)
    • Digital Performance
    • Agile-Scrum Framework
