Function Overview

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Human Resources Compensation Specialist, to join our Global Human Resources organization in Benton Harbor, MI. This position provides deep functional expertise to support delivery of Compensation processes, delivers on the strategy designed by the global Compensation center of excellence and performs vendor management activities such as service level agreement escalation and service level agreement monitoring.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, administer and monitor Whirlpool’s compensation programs including market surveys, job and organizational analyses, comp recommendations
  • Act as a point of escalation or support for compensation related questions or issues that require deep functional knowledge for resolution
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and partner with vendors to continuously improve the delivery of compensation processes
  • Consult with Compensation CoE and local HR to resolve issues, provide interpretations, and assist with compensation policies and program updates and enhancements
  • Collaborate with Technology and regional compensation teams to maintain the organization’s leveling structure
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to develop compensation packages for both external and internal candidates
  • Provide compensation recommendations by determining market competitive compensation and review requests for compensation outside of guidelines
  • Analyze new and existing market data and leveling for jobs and teams
  • Manage the application of compensation-related contract clauses and policies
  • Suggest methods to update, simplify, and enhance processes, procedures, and technologies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of compensation experience  

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Accounting
  • Knowledge of HR regulatory and statutory requirements in terms of compensation
  • Delivers strong, consistent content in both quality and service
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong time- and case-management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to focus on client service
  • Ability to handle confidential information; acts in a professional manner
  • Ability to develop materials to present analysis, recommendations, issues, etc. both externally and internally
