This role in summary

This position of Electronics Hardware Engineer - Analyst is focused on designing embedded hardware solutions. The engineer will be a member of Whirlpool’s Electronics, Electrical Systems and Innovation Organization, a global team of close to 500 people developing cutting edge electronics for home appliances.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop and validate embedded hardware applications
  • Integrate hardware modules to build embedded hardware applications.
  • Electronic/Electrical Circuit Model/Simulation
  • Schematics and PCB Layout design and/or review 
  • Component selection for hardware execution.
  • Prototyping, initial testing, debugging, and functional verification 
  • Along with engineering & procurement staff, manage all communication with suppliers/manufacturers to define components supply chain and evaluate all results effectively.
  • Actively Participate on Technical Design Reviews

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in designing embedded hardware 
  • Experience with Hardware design, PCB Layout and circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience in prototype bring-up and debugging and functional verification
  • Experience with Microcontroller based designs.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Experience with Cadence hardware development tools
  • Power supply (SMPS, AC-DC AND DC-DC);
  • Experience with embedded software/firmware design is a plus.
  • Great Electrical Engineering fundamentals
  • Desired experience in the following areas:
  • Analog and Digital Logic design
  • Various communication protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN etc)
  • Project assessment & risk management
  • EMC/EMI design practices and standards.
  • Experience developing projects in a stage-gate process
