The GIS Director for ISC and manufacturing  will partner with the ISC North America Region (NAR) leadership team to shape the NAR Mfg & ISC business strategy (including Latin America Region North MFG) and to lead the technology strategy and roadmap to support current and future business needs. 

 

This position is responsible for driving the transformation of Whirlpool’s technology solutions, leading the delivery of aligned key programs/projects, enabling business insights through connectivity and analytics, accountable for the overall stability and day by day management and continuous improvement of the ISC application portfolio.   

 

The role leads the team supporting the full lifecycle management for ISC domain specific applications, and will partner with other GIS teams to ensure a cohesive IT strategy, roadmap and harmonized set of applications to enable whirlpool strategic imperatives. The role will partner with other ISC regional GIS and business leads to identify priorities and opportunities for global technology, process convergence.

 

What You Will Do:
 

Strategy

  • Co-shapes the global Manufacturing & ISC technology evolution and standardization priorities.
  • Leads development of the Manufacturing & ISC technology roadmap.
  • Partners with global value stream leads, other regional Manufacturing & ISC leads and Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) leads to provide & gather inputs to drive forward ISC improvements, including Industry 4.0.  Provides expertise to other GIS leads to regional requirements to ensure a robust and cohesive strategy.
  • Coordinates strategic & business planning process in alignment with PMO framework and tools.
  • Drives execution of regional/global strategies through effective governance and management of improvement portfolio, key programs and projects and performance management / scorecard.
  • Ensures alignment of the prioritization and resource allocation with the overall strategic ISC/GIS agenda.
  • Enables an innovation culture, & decision making by bringing benchmark market and competitiveness data.
  • Enables efficiencies between global product, to identify cross-functional process, data, and systems synergies across ISC, MFG, Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS), EHSS, Quality, and Global Product Organization (GPO).
  • Identifies and drives global synergy development across ISC & MFG aligned to WCM and regional ISC strategies, leveraging GIS global operating model.
  • Strategic partnership with EIS & Cybersecurity teams to design proper resilience into the MFG environment.

 

Capabilities & Programs

  • Leads the capability building through the development of strategy and regional/global programs
  • Partners with ISC teams to ensure flawless roll out and execution at regional & site level of core programs and initiatives, in order to elevate ISC capabilities across the region (systems, process, people, organizational).
  • Develops, drives, and actively participates with other functions & regional leaders towards E2E harmonization of processes.
  • Partners closely with finance/PMO to track budget vs. actual performance for the organization throughout the year including the coordination for major financial updates.
  • Provides leadership and sponsorship of a high performance and continuous process improvement culture, driven by metrics, benchmarking and best practices.

 

Summary of Basic Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of managing technical teams, and working closely with business leaders.

 

Basic Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate qualifications in Technology or other related fields.

 

Summary of Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership, communication & interpersonal; effective leader and builder of strong teams.
  • Experience working with all areas (Manufacturing, planning, logistics, quality ...) within ISC.
  • Demonstrated strength in examining issues, shaping strategy & influencing effectively across the organization, driving people, process & technology change.
  • Technical scope of knowledge includes a broad understanding of supply chain solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of ISC processes.
  • Ability to translate vision to strategy to outcomes-based roadmaps.
  • Balances discovery & delivery; Anticipate future needs driving technology based experimentation & innovation.
  • Understand and leverage agile ways of working.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written), including the ability to explain difficult concepts & technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists. 
  • Strong Financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated strength in partnering with internal/external contacts globally to generate mutually beneficial, long-term opportunities & negotiating win-win outcomes.
  • Experience leading multiple high-profile projects with demanding deadlines, changing requirements, & working with limited resources. Ability to estimate required effort & prioritize work items appropriately
