This position will provide overall leadership to the Global Product Safety Risk Team
within the Global Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs team. The Product Safety Risk
Team has full accountability for managing product safety risk of our global product
portfolio, both proactively during product development and reactively once products
have already been placed on the market.


Roles and Responsibilities:
● Provides overall direction for management of Product Safety Risk for all products
distributed in markets around the world.

● Maintain a strong culture of integrity and compliance to internal product safety
policy across the enterprise.

● Full ownership of the end to end Design for Safety Process, including process
deployment and continuous improvement, training, and compliance monitoring
and enforcement.

● Works with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to help manage and
integrate product safety initiatives into the strategic plan for the company,
including strategic safety project prioritization, advocacy, and deployment.
● Oversight of the engineering Product Safety Tech Teams

● Oversight of forced failure testing procedure development, personnel
competency development, and deployment.

● Field product safety risk analysis, monitoring, reporting, and facilitation and
monitoring of corrective action.

● Oversees the development and production of product safety analytics and
reporting for internal use.

● Support of product liability defense activities related to potential product safety
hazard allegations.


● Oversee a staff of product safety risk management professionals. Develop and
implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged
workforce.


Ideal candidate profile:


● Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline. Master’s Degree preferred.
● Black Belt Certification Preferred
● 10-15 years of experience in engineering and product development.
● 5-10 years experience in product safety and risk management.
● High level of executive presence. Able to interact with senior corporate
leadership and high-level external stakeholders, political and technical.
● High level of attention to detail, but also able to see the “big picture”

● Enjoys challenges - need to be willing to roll-up your sleeves and dig in to
understand the drivers and identify potential problem solution
● Collaborative working style – able to work across a complex, matrixed
organization

● Self-disciplined with high levels of motivation
● Demonstrated team builder, with experience managing teams (7+ professionals)
● Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and written verbal communication skills
