This role in summary

KitchenAid Small Appliances (KASA) sales team is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Sales Manager opening to join our KitchenAid Small Appliances organization at Whirlpool Corporation. This position reports to and is located at our Corporate Headquarters is Southwest Michigan but can also be located remotely in the Seattle, Washington area


The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing retail specific go-to-market strategies that deliver our 3 year growth roadmaps. A qualified candidate must be able to utilize their business knowledge to deliver profit plan targets (Net Sales and Direct Contribution Margin) and provide a unique value proposition to their assigned Retailers. In this position, you will work closely with the Brand/Product, Demand Planning, Merchandising & Operations teams to deliver the business plans across all  KitchenAid product categories.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop and execute Retail specific go-to-market strategies (product, promotions, placement, in store activity, etc.) for assigned Retailers/Channels
  • Develop and execute channel strategy to accelerate both Whirlpool Corporation and Retailer growth.  Meet / exceed monthly sales volume, revenue and Direct Contribution Margin targets by retailer
  • Manage full P&L by retailer (Meet targets set within budget manager identifies needed)
  • Create incremental sell-through opportunities to achieve / exceed profit plan for Net Sales and Direct Contribution Margin
  • Support and execute changes of pricing and customer policies to support business deliverables and minimize channel conflict
  • Accountable for supply/demand planning for assigned Retailers
  • Accountable for POS based forecasts (+/-5%). Analyze and understand weekly drivers to POS.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of business and marketing trends, analyzing and forecasting business results, taking action with cross-functional team to deliver profit plan
  • Track new product progress in the market and collaborate with cross-functional team to modify plans where appropriate
  • Practice agile, creative problem solving by working independently and with direct team on frequent, short deadlines ·
  • 15-30% travel required within the US

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of strategic selling and negotiating experience

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing
  • Experience selling and merchandising with E-commerce Retailers, Mass Retailers or an accelerated growth Retailer
  • Utilize data to formulate or support strategies
  • Understanding of trade channel selling processes / channel management, and financial analysis
  • Communicator with impeccable interpersonal skills, clear and effective writing, and excellent presentation skills
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Leadership skills to positively influence the KASA culture
  • Project management and organizational skills
