Function Overview
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidate candidates for a Benefits Manager in Benton Harbor, MI to join our Global Human Resources organization.  This role will serve a critical project management lead for two key initiatives: start-up of the Whirlpool Daycare and streamlining and managing our outsourced health centers across multiple manufacturing sites, in addition to operationalizing and executing the benefit strategies. The position will supervise, direct, and evaluate staff.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee vendors’ projects execution and performance, ensuring delivery by vendors meets expectations and is appropriately integrated into a complex, multi-vendor environment
  • Partner with the daycare and health center vendors to define and establish human resource metrics and service level agreements that can be analyzed to indicate areas of improvement
  • Define and develop escalation process for the daycare and health center vendors
  • Define, develop and lead business review meetings with the daycare and health center vendors
  • Project manage from a human resource operations perspective the opening of the daycare  and must be able to influence across different functions and have the ability to project lead a complex project
  • Act in a consultative and project management role to centers of excellence to define and implement program delivery
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure services are effectively delivered
  • Ensure human resource programs are developed with robust metrics defined so that they can be continually measured and improved over time
  • Identify and recommend methods to update, simplify and enhance processes, procedures, and technologies
  • Interpret, communicate, and apply human resource ops objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Use a general understanding of procedures, policies, knowledge database, other reference materials, and judgment to assist in resolving complex issues
  • The functional specialist team will act as the primary interface to centers of excellence, Business human resources, and Non-human resource  functional departments to appropriately escalate inquiries/concerns
  • Handle complex or escalated inquiries or transactions

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources
  • 2+ years of experience in group medical plan management, managing a healthcare vendor(s)

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • Experience developing/managing teams
  • Experience in a supervisory position or operational management preferred
  • Experience with large-scale project management, including implementations of new benefit vendors/plans
  • Human resource business partner experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of human resources benefits policies, practices, and procedures, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Project management professional certification preferred
  • Experience developing and implementing customer service strategies preferred
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality customer service in a professional manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to develop and deliver verbal and written communications which convey complex information in a simple, easily understandable manner
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues based on data or available information
  • Ability to maintain objectivity under pressure
