Function Overview:

 

The successful candidate will be accountable for the quality performance for a refrigerator Value stream at the Amana Facility. These Value streams may include Assembly lines, automation and testing support, Fabrication areas, Coordinate Measuring Areas, and End of Line testing. 

 

The successful candidate will be accountable to lead one of the Value streams to improve Quality Performance by developing Kaizens, QA Matrix, QA Network, 8Ds, Control Plans, FMEA, Poka-yoke tools. 

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate and maintain the Quality KPI’s for the assigned production area to ensure zero quality claims for the customer and the next process on the production chain
  • Coordinate containment, Process and Product Audits, Actions Plans, Standard, Advanced and Major Kaizens to ensure zero quality claims for the customer and the next process on the supply chain
  • Development of the actions to improve assembly Method and address Human Error through WCM (World Class Manufacturing) tools
  • Responsible for development of the plan to prevent future quality regressions and new issues to occur
  • Daily communication with Quality Leadership team and Operations Manager
  • Support of development of the test coverage
  • Participate in the development and approval of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). 
  • Participate in the development, approval, and implementation of Control Plans to progress towards Zero quality defects. 

 

 

Basic Qualifications:


 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • 4+ years of Quality or Manufacturing Experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

 

  • Communication skills (Ability to work at all levels from Plant Leadership to Machine Operator).
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Experience developing Poka-yokes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (OpEx, Red X, LEAN Manufacturing)
  • Experience as a Quality Engineer in a Manufacturing Environment
