Position Title:

Mexico Inbound Operations Manager

     
       

POSITION SUMMARY  Give a brief statement describing the major purpose of this position (two or three sentences highlighting the general characteristics).  This summary will be used in the functional ladder and should provide enough information to differentiate the major functions and activities of this position from those of other positions.

 

Responsible for being the lead within the Mexico manufacturing operations for all materials functions – Inbound operations, Materials Optimization and Project Management.  This role will be required to work very closely in a blended role, to drive the Mexico initiatives and budgets identified and owned by their colleagues at a NAR level.  This includes key material initiatives, RWIP inventory optimization, part setup and governance, returnable packaging asset management, inbound logistics networks and budgets, as well as supplier management programs.  The Mexico lead will also be responsible for the management of the Mexico portion of the operations budget, totaling approximately $50M in freight and warehousing.

 

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Inbound operations management including domestic and international.
  • Part optimization projects in partnership with plant materials teams management.
  • People leadership of Plant Traffic Leads.
  • Project Management/Other miscellaneous.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor Degree (business or related).

Work Experience: 5-7 years

Technical/Product Knowledge: SAP, BOBJ, BEX/BW

Other Requirements (certifications, licenses, etc): Manufacturing or finance background would be an asset.  Ability to lead through influence is a key success factor due to the cross functional nature of the role and the large number of stakeholders with no direct report relationship.

Number of Direct Reports: 5

Number of Indirect Reports:

  • 3PL Management:  (Support: Penske, Surgere, Hellmann)
  • Purchasing Collaboration:  (PMO, Commodity Mgmt, Supply Assurance, Sourcing Excellence, Supplier Quality)
  • Manufacturing Collaboration: (Plant Leaders, Controllers, Material Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Shipping, and Receiving, Traffic Coordinators).

Budget Managed: Operating, Sales, etc (if applicable).     IB Opertaions: NAR-Mex: $50M  

Percent of Time Expected to Travel: 25-50%

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Role must be located with ISC team in Mexico in Monterrey

 

This role will be critical in ensuring that projects, initiatives, and strategies are implemented fully in Mexico.  Requires extremely strong collaboration with colleagues within the materials group and at the Mexico plants, as this person will be responsible for driving all materials strategies with the Mexico teams
